Junior Science

The junior science programme offers a wide variety of engaging, practical topics that allow our students to learn through exploration of the Nature of Science.  Students will investigate, learn how science changes over time, explore socio-scientific issues and assess the validity of communicated ideas in the real world. This learning occurs through content-based strands that explore the living world, physical world and material world. Typical activities for junior students might include dissections, motion investigations, electricity and magnetism exploration and chemical reactions. Students will be assessed in a range of different ways that prepare them for NCEA but also for the world.
