CHS Educational Trust Inc
The purpose of the Trust is to administer the investments and trusts enabled by the generous contributions, gifts or bequeaths from our community. These donations are a significant support for students in our school, recognising a range of needs and success from our student community.
The CHS Educational Trust awards scholarships and support for the following:
Senior Prizegiving and Year 13 students who are going on to tertiary study.
CHS Sports Awards, Cultural Awards, Senior Prizegiving and the Ngaa Poutiaki Celebration Evening.
School blazers worn by our House Prefects (or senior leadership camp).
Special scholarships and trusts recognising success and providing financial support to CHS students.
Specifically, the CHS Educational Trust meets twice per annum to recognise student for the following awards.
In Term 1, awards from the Trust are given out to gifted and talented sporting and academic and music students.
The Ritchie Pickett Scholarship is awarded to a talented music student who wishes to continue their music studies. The Ian & Helen Rogers Award for academic success and the Mannell Trust Award for outstanding sporting success. The Colin McHarg Family Trust Award is for a senior student who may not be the top academic or sporting student but who contributes to the fabric of CHS and the greater Cambridge community.
In Term 3, students are invited to apply for CHS Educational Trust Scholarships (including Tom & Rose Milnes Award) and also the Maaori Student Scholarship. We also award the Bev Smale Technology Award for contribution in Fabric and Food Technology.
