Strengthening and Conditioning Programmes

There are three types of Strengthening and Conditioning programmes offered at CHS.

The first, known as the Wintec Programme, is run week day mornings for any Years 9 and 10 students wishing to develop their body awareness and fitness and recovery.  Undertaken and overseen by Dr. Peter Maulder from the Centre of Sport Science and Human Performance at Wintec this programme is provided free by the school.  Early sign up is recommended as places are limited.

The second programme is for all sports people and is offered each term and, provided and overseen by Marinus Du Preez, Physiotherapist with Vigour Physiotherapy here in Cambridge.  Marinus is also an old-boy of Cambridge High School and has a good understanding of the guiding principles for sport here at the school.  This Programme is voluntary and you can sign up to sessions when they are offered.  Contact Mrs Lindsey Walters for more details.

The third programme is run for members of the Premier teams only and is designed to meet the requirements of their chosen sports.  Marinus works in collaboration with Coaches to ensure best practice is followed with practices, fitness and breaks from training.
