Update on Facemasks and our Assembly

Morena e te whaanau,Good morning everyone, Just a couple of brief things from me this morning. Firstly, facemasks are no longer expected to be worn indoors at CHS. Nationally and locally the quantity of illness has decreased notably over the first 4 weeks of this term and student attendance at CHS is trending back upwards. Wearing masks is still encouraged and supported at CHS, but teachers will no longer be following this up with students in class. Secondly, we had a fantastic assembly on Wedn...

Plan for teaching adjustments in Term 3

Firstly, however, it is important to give you a context for our situation. We are not alone with the issues we are facing as the teaching profession across the country is stretched thinly. We are dealing with the legacy of COVID related issues and disruption and with problems emerging ...

Rostering home will continue until the end of Term 1

Dear Parents / Caregivers, and studentsTeenaa koutou ki a koutou, In my communication last week, I signaled that we would like to stop rostering home our senior students before the end of term. Unfortunately, we will not be able to do this. We have seen a rise in numbers of our staff out this week and this is expected to flow into the coming weeks. The additional stress that managing all students back onsite will place on our staff and relievers during the final weeks of the term is greater than...
