Volunteering at Cambridge High School

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the School.  Without all of our volunteers we would not be able to provide the wide range of sporting and cultural activities in the school.  Our volunteers are either parents of students or enthusiastic supporters of the school and it sporting and cultural opportunities.

We are continuing to build closer relationships with clubs and societies in the Waipa region to make sure that students are able to to have a wide range of opportunities that best suits their talents and aspirations.

Within the school, the larger sporting codes are managed by volunteer committees - Cricket, Football, Hockey, Netball, Rowing and Rugby.  The 'smaller' codes are either managed by either Staff members in charge or the Sports and Culture department.

We always need more people who are willing to stand-up and be counted.  We provide ongoing support and development.  There is also considerable enjoyment by being involved.  if you would like to take part, have skills to offer or want to be part of great teams then please feel free to contact us by clicking here.

Committees

Larger sporting codes have committees to oversee the operation of sports at the school.  These committees are made up of volunteers that have students at the school or members of the community with a passion for the sport.  All committees have student representatives to make sure that their voices are heard.  This is also a great leadership opportunity for the students.

Other sports either have a Teacher in Charge or are managed by the Department of Sport and Culture.

Operational Management

The following codes are managed by committees:

Cricket
Football
Hockey
Netball
Rowing
Rugby

All other sports and cultural groups are organised by either Staff Members in charge or by the Department of Sports and Arts.  Ad hoc committees are also developed for one-off events such as the School Production.
