TRUSTEE

Miss Corren Ngerengere

Kia ora kotou,

My name is Corren Ngerengere and I was successfully co-opted as the Ngaa Poutiaki representative to the Cambridge High School Board of Trustees.

I am the mother of two amazing children who both attended Cambridge High School. My eldest is in her third year of University and her second year studying Medicine at Auckland University. My youngest completed Year 13 in 2021 and is working full time locally while she looks into her work or study options for 2023. I have had over seven years experience as a parent at Cambridge High School and remain appreciative of the opportunities provided to my children.

In the over fifteen years I have resided in Cambridge I have had many years experience in educational governance both as a board member and as chair in various schools. I am currently the Chair of the Care and Protection Resource Panel with Oranga Tamariki and professionally, I am a Community Advisor with Waipa District Council. Prior to this I worked in the social services sector.

I have an in-depth working knowledge of the many and varied complexities and challenges our children face both inside and outside the school context. Having an influence on ‘how our children arrive’ through the school gate is what drives me. Without reservation I have an unapologetic focus on well-being inclusive of staff. While I in no way profess to know what is ‘cool’ to children these days, I do believe in creating and providing opportunities for our children to explore, grow and succeed, whatever that might mean.

I feel privileged to apply my world view and skill set to this position and look forward to ensuring our children feel reflected and represented here at Cambridge High School.

Ngaa mihi
