Cheerleading returned to Cambridge High School in 2019 as the idea of two 10 year students. Starting small, the group has developed into a squad of 15.
Students practice each week (Friday Lunchtimes) in the South Gym with tutor Kyrah Rowlands from Cheer Addiction.
In 2020, the team competed at the national championships in Auckland in November and were placed 4th out of 8 in their grade, which was a great achievement given this was their first time at Nationals. This is a team on the move who are determined to be their best.
This year the team is a mix of those who have never taken part before together with the more experienced ranging from Year 9 to Year 12. Although the team is all girls, they would also welcome any boys who want to take part.
Cheerleading caters for dancers, gymnasts and tumblers.
