Basketball

Whether you dream of the NBL, NBA, WNBA or just shooting some hoops each week with some teammates; basketball at CHS has you covered.  We offer both competitive (Premier) and social teams across junior and senior school levels for both boys and girls in the Waikato Secondary Schools Sports Competition.

Musters are held in February/March and teams are selected from there.  Students are encouraged to read the daily notices and check their emails for information. Opportunities to learn to referee are also available.

Basketball at CHS is a growing sport and we love our parents to be involved at all levels of the game. From coach to team manager, to first aider or even referee; we welcome your help.

Practice Times: Practice days and times vary depending on your team and coach but could be early morning or after school.

Games: Played during Terms 2 and 3 with Junior Girls and Boys playing Tuesday (social and premier) from early evening onwards. Senior Boys and Girls social teams play Thursday from early evening, with Senior Boys and Girls playing Friday evening. There is travel involved as we play both home and away games to several different locations across Hamilton and Waikato area.

Fees: $150 - $200

Uniform: Playing uniform is supplied by the school.

Gear Required: Sneakers / basketball shoes and a mouthguard

Important Dates: TBC – Secondary School competition will likely commence week starting 1st May.
