Athletics and Cross-Country
Athletics and Cross-Country school competitions take place throughout the year and further competitive opportunities are also available through the local athletics club – Cambridge Athletic and Harrier Club. We welcome anyone who has an interest in athletics or cross country to get in touch.

Practice Times: Distance running training is available on Tuesday’s at 6pm all year around at Cambridge Athletic Grounds with Steve Rees-Jones. For other athletics events please enquire.
Fees: There is no cost for training however there will be a fee if students choose to compete at any of the inter-school championships. Competition entry fees are low – generally $10-$20. If competing at the NZ Secondary School Champs, then there will be accommodation and transport costs.
Uniform: Competition singlet supplied for events.
Gear Required: Running clothing and shoes.

June 2026 - Waikato-BOP Schools Cross Country (Mangatarata)
20th - 21st June 2026 - NZ Schools Cross Country (Wellington)
11th - 13th December 2026 - NZ Schools Athletics (Whanganui TBC)
