Head of Languages faculty

What does the role involve?
The aim of this role is to share your passion for languages with our students, ensuring the teaching of Languages across the school is at the highest level.  We deliver the languages of Te Reo Maaori, French and Japanese from Year 9 to 13 at CHS. The outgoing HoF has done an outstanding job of building a love of languages through an engaging curriculum and range of extra-curriculum offerings, including school trips and exchanges.

Teacher of DVC and another Technology Specialisation

This position is for a permanent, full-time, teacher of DVC/Technology. Commencing term 1, 2026.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, Technology teacher who can deliver DVC content from Year Nine through to Year Thirteen.  The ability to be able to effectively use and teach CAD (computer aided drawing) skills is essential.  Ideally, they would also be able to teach another Technology specialisation.

There may be an opportunity for responsibility in the DVC area for experienced teachers and appropriate remuneration will be discussed with the right candidate.

Teacher of Health & Physical Education

We are looking for an innovative, energetic and relationship focused Health and Physical Education teacher to join our collegial faculty. The ideal candidate will have strengths in developing culturally responsive practice, the ability to teach the Senior Physical Education curriculum and an enthusiasm for creating a curriculum relevant to our students.

The PE faculty have a reputation in the school of building positive relationships and maintaining high expectations with all students. Therefore, a proficiency in behaviour management strategies would be an advantage.

This is a full-time fixed-term position starting from 28 January 2026 and is appropriate for all levels of experience.

A further opportunity exists to join our English faculty starting Term 1 2026. The faculty is very collegial, collaborative, supportive, and innovative in its approach.

The ideal candidate will be open to keeping kaupapa Māori at the centre of their teaching and willing to learn and collaborate about ways to do this.

Staff wellbeing and a student-centred approach are the two driving forces of this faculty, and the ideal candidate will place strong emphasis on this in their practice.
