Future Technologies

This course aims to give students the opportunity to apply different Technology contexts in a future-focused approach, for example electronics and metal in a lighting outcome.

The Year 10 programme is our advanced thinking programme and gives students plenty of autonomy to pursue authentic and engaging solutions that are meaningful for them. In this programme, students are challenged on their thinking skills and their ability to understand and use the technology process. Students are given a platform to be able to reach the highest level in their future NCEA Technology subjects. Level 3 Technology students can also submit their NCEA L3 project as a New Zealand Technology Scholarship project, with Scholarship being the highest academic level of achievement in the New Zealand secondary school system. Future Technologies provides ongoing mentoring, and support is on offer for these students in subsequent years.
