Technology

Technology is an exciting area of the curriculum and a place for all students to experience high-level thinking in a creative setting. In a world that is developing quickly in terms of technology, the most valuable skills we can give students are the ability to solve problems and adapt to change. We work with students to give them the tools and the confidence to be able to do this. This process encourages innovation alongside the practical requirements for the success of a design. All successful design works through this process; examples include Apple producing the iPhone, Adidas producing the All Blacks’ rugby jersey, and Nike producing innovative shoe styles using new technology and new resources.

In line with the updated (2016) Health & Safety Act, all students are required to wear closed-in shoes when they are in the Technology Workshops (including the Food and Fabrics classrooms).
