Homestays

The homestay programme offered to International Students is run entirely by the Homestay Co-ordinator. The Homestay Co-ordinator personally selects homestay families and stays in regular contact with them. All payments are made to the homestay by the school to ensure that the relationship between International Students and their homestay family is family-oriented rather than financially-oriented.

At Cambridge High School, we are proud of the individual care given to our students and parents can be confident that their children are well looked after.  Cambridge High School is happy to accept responsibility for International Students on behalf of thier parents.  Students are met on their arrival at Auckland International Airport to ensure they feel welcomed from their first moments in New Zealand.

Parents of International Students receive regular reports from school and from homestay families. Our students may use the school fax and email to contact parents. Any enquiry from parents is given immediate attention. The independent National Education Review Office report has noted that: "Cambridge High School has a reputation for quality academic and pastoral provisions".

Cambridge itself is a delightful town for International Students to live and study in. Cambridge is a picturesque town of 16,000 people located 20 minutes by car from Hamilton City. Hamilton, located 1.5 hours from the Auckland International Airport, is New Zealand’s fourth largest city and is home to the University of Waikato and Wintec (formerly the Waikato Polytech).
